Ralph & Erica

Dear Birth Parent(s),

Hi! We are Ralph and Erica Garcia and it is our privilege to write this letter to you. We have trusted God to build our family through adoption and you hold a special place in our hearts. We have been waiting, hoping, and praying for you, your baby, the tough decisions you are facing, and the day that our paths would cross.

Our first date was on Valentine’s Day in 2006. After Erica’s basketball practice, Ralph showed up at the front door of her college dorm with a dozen red roses and whisked her off to dinner at Claim Jumper…where there was an hour and a half wait for a table. Instead of being grumpy, we passed the time by getting to know one another. Little did we know, those were the first moments of a lifetime of love.

In 2008, Erica was diagnosed with cancer. The cancer treatment saved her life, but a side effect was that she would never be able to get pregnant. In 2010, Erica was declared cancer free and has been healthy ever since. While unfortunate, Erica’s battle with cancer brought us closer than ever.

We had a new appreciation for life and thought – if we can conquer this challenge, then we can face anything together. We were married on November 11, 2010. It was a magical night, celebrating life and love, with our family and friends.

Just as we found the silver lining in Erica’s cancer diagnosis, we believe that God has big plans for growing our family despite infertility. We want to adopt because we believe that life is precious! We can provide a loving, fun, and stable life for a child. Our families cannot wait to lavish a child with love! We have close relationships with both of our families and it’s such a blessing that they live nearby. Every Friday night we have dinner with Ralph’s parents, sister, brother and their families.

We have such a special bond with our nephews, too, and treasure every moment we spend with them. We, also, visit Erica’s family regularly. They live close to the beach, so we enjoy walking to restaurants, watching the surfers, and taking in the scenery.

We are excited to share our life with a child and experience things through their eyes. Every summer we take multiple trips to our house in Laughlin, Nevada to enjoy the sun, ride on our boat, and splash around in the water with our nephews. After a fun day at the lake, we love to stop by the snow cone shop on the way home, too. When we aren’t at the lake, you can find us cheering on our nephews at their soccer and baseball games, hiking trails around Orange County, and spending weekends with our friends and their families watching sports and playing board games. Our favorite football teams are the Dallas Cowboys and USC, but we are really fans of all sports and teams!

We have separate passions that we pursue, too. Erica loves to read and run half-marathons. Early in the morning and late at night you can find Erica curled up on the couch, reading a murder mystery. She looks forward to, one day, taking her son or daughter to the library, checking out a stack of books, and reading through them together while snuggled up on the couch. Ralph loves to test his strength and push his limits doing CrossFit workouts. His motivation for improving his fitness is so that he can play endlessly w ith his kids – running around parks and play grounds, throwing them up in the air, and twirling them around.

Ralph often spends time with his dad and brother working on their cars and boat and doing projects around their houses. They get things done, laughing along the way.

We enjoy a balance between spending time with our friends and family and working hard. We both work for an amazing company in the residential construction industry. Ralph works as a Post Production Manager and Erica is the Controller. We are blessed to work for a company that takes work seriously, but also desires for their associates to have balance and enjoy time with their families at home. It is important to us to show our child what hard work, dedication, and responsibility looks like. Also, we do our best to model thankfulness, generosity, living within our means, and standing up for what we believe in. We promise to pour all of our love into your child. We will raise your child in a faith-filled home and give them the tools to make good decisions.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for choosing to carry your baby through pregnancy, allowing couples like us to have an opportunity to be parents. Thank you for considering our profile. As you get closer to making a decision, if you have questions and would like to meet in person, we would welcome the opportunity to spend time with you.

In gratefulness and love,

Ralph and Erica
