FAMILYBUILDING is a free resource for birth mothers who are seeking knowledgeable, caring information about private adoption and agency adoption. We offer comprehensive legal guidance to adoptive couples, a step parent or a relative seeking to adopt, a foster parent, and to anyone who is concerned about the well being of children in need.

We are skilled, experienced and focused on helping children find stability through independent adoption, foster care, guardianship and any other legal means available. We treat adoptive parents and birth parents with the highest levels of sensitivity and provide them with insightful guidance that comes from years of practice and personal life experiences with taking in children in need.

FAMILYBUILDING™

is an outgrowth of a commitment to helping children find stable homes that has served as a guiding light for Mr. Youmans’ entire legal career. In 1987, when he was still a law clerk, he saw the great need among children to have a home and life that offered a promise of stability and the hope of a healthy, happy future. He made a decision to devote his professional life to doing all he could to help those children find that life.

A Sacrifice Out of Love and Courage

Birth mothers who choose to place their child with another family, make that sacrifice out of love and courage. We call them “heroes” and the child is raised in a home that honors the birth parents for that “parenting” choice.

How Adoption Works

We help adoptive couples understand how adoption works. Once they embrace the spirit of adoption, and the myths and fears about adoption can be cleared away, they move into the process with a clear vision, open arms and full hearts for birth mothers, birth fathers and children who need a new generational trajectory.
