Dear expectant parents, we hope this letter finds you surrounded in support, love, and strength. We want to say thank you for taking the time to get to know a little bit about us and our family.

Our Story:

Skylar and I met in 2011 on the island of Okinawa Japan while he was serving there with the Air Force. We struck up a conversation at a social gathering and stayed connected through social media. In 2013 Skylar was called to duty in Las Vegas, not too far from my home in Boise Idaho. While I was working my way through college in Boise, I traveled to and from Vegas to see Skylar. March of 2014 taught us that we would be expecting our first child- a baby girl. Shortly after, I made the decision to finish college online and move to Las Vegas to be with Skylar.

We welcomed our first child in December of 2014. Later that year, Skylar asked me to be his wife! When our daughter was a year old, I became pregnant with our second child- a son. Shortly after learning that our family would be growing again, Skylar and I were married in Boise Idaho with our family looking on, our daughter by our sides, and our son growing in my belly. We welcomed our son in September of 2016. We are still stationed in Las Vegas and Skylar is still serving our country with the Air Force.

We have 2 bio kids and are very fortunate to be able to have babies. Adoption is a choice for us. My heart has known from a young age that I would always love to build my family through adoption. When I expressed my desire to grow our family through adoption Skylar was extremely supportive and excited.

Skylar:

Skylar grew up in Fresno California with two loving parents and one younger sister. Skylar’s childhood was wonderful and full of love. He loved sports and swimming. He ran track, and played for the local high school football team. He continues his love for sports and plays football and baseball for the recreational teams within the Air Force.

Skylar has been serving in the Air Force for nearly 10 years now doing combat search and rescue. Skylar is a dedicated and loving dad. Our kids cherish the ground he walks on. He loves to be involved in all of their activities and teach them new things. He is very proud and humbled to serve our country through the military. He has a very easy going personality and is the calm amongst the chaos many times.

He has always wanted a big family and can not wait to add to ours. His favorite things include living a healthy lifestyle, being outside, riding dirt bikes, and working on his truck. He is a dedicated and hardworking father to our children. Skylar’s support means the world to our family, he never misses a chance to see his kids try new things, go on family bike rides, take our boat to the lake, or go ride dirt bikes in the desert.

Becca:

I was born in California, but raised in Boise Idaho. My childhood was nothing short of beautiful and loving. I grew up playing tons of sports but really excelled in softball. I loved and still love to ride horses also! I graduated with my bachelor’s degree from Boise State when I was 6 months pregnant with our son!

I stayed at home with our kids for 3 years until I chose to go back to work as a Neurophysiologist. My job is flexible and allows for a great balance of motherhood and work.

I always knew I wanted to be a mom. I never had a “concrete” picture of what that would look like for me. I wasn’t sure if I would be a mommy through adoption or have my own babies. I feel so fortunate to be a mom to 2 healthy babies and can not wait to add more- whatever that might look like for us.

Traveling the world for pleasure and traveling for medical missions is a huge piece of my heart. Our family has grown to love traveling together. I love to be active and outside any chance I have. Boating in the summer and snowboarding in the winter are two hobbies we love! As a mom it is so important to me to be present and available to our kids as they grow up!

Our kids

Blayke is our daughter and oldest child. She loves all things “girl”. Her favorite things are princesses and anything sparkly. She excels in both dance and gymnastics right now and we love going as a family to support her at her recitals.

Owen is our son and our youngest child. He is our wild man. He loves to ride his bike, be outside, and anything that revolves around dirt bikes or dinosaurs! Both of our kids are so excited to have another sibling in our family to love!

Our Values: We built our family on love and we will continue to build it that way. We are surrounded by a diverse community and we teach our children acceptance and inclusion for all people regardless of any differences they share from us. In our family kindness and love are a priority! We also emphasize a respect for animals, a hardworking individual, and open mindedness.
